Cookie use on the SwaedUAE website — strictly necessary cookies only, no analytics, and your choices under the UAE PDPL.

Effective date: 1 October 2026

This policy explains how Swaed UAE Association For Culture and Community Empowerment (“the Association”, “we”) uses cookies and similar storage on swaeduae.ae and its subdomains (the “Website”). Read it with the Privacy policy. The mobile apps use device permissions, not browser cookies; the Privacy policy covers them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include browser local storage. Under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL) identifiers set by cookies can be personal data; cookies that are not necessary for the service need your consent before they are set.

What we use: strictly necessary cookies only

The Website sets only cookies that are needed for it to work. We use no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and no third-party cookies. Our visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies or identifiers. Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, the Website shows no cookie banner and asks for no consent; the PDPL does not require consent for cookies that are needed to provide the service you asked for.

Cloudflare, which protects the Website, may set a short-lived __cf_bm security cookie to tell people from bots; it is strictly necessary and contains no profile data.

Maps

Event, Our Footprint and organiser pages load map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers. Loading a tile sends your IP address to the tile server; no cookie is set by us for maps.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block the session or XSRF cookies you will not be able to sign in or send forms. Clearing site data resets the look preference.

Children

The Website sets no cookie that tracks or profiles anyone, including children. See the Child safety standards.

Changes

If we ever add a non-essential cookie (for example privacy-friendly analytics), we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before it is set.
